Meet your new kitchen good luck charm.

The Daruma is one of Japan's most beloved symbols — a round, wide-eyed figure modeled after the Zen Buddhist monk Bodhidharma, who reportedly meditated for nine years straight until his arms and legs withered away. (He was very committed.) No-nonsense, resilient, and famously impossible to tip over for good, the Daruma embodies the spirit of "fall down seven times, get up eight" — which, honestly, is also a pretty good philosophy for ambitious baking.

This set of four handcrafted pewter measuring spoons brings that spirit into your kitchen. Each spoon is shaped like a Daruma figure — roughly 3½ inches tall — and includes ¼ tsp, ½ tsp, 1 tsp, and 1 tbsp. Beautifully weighted in the hand and detailed enough to display, they're equally at home on a spice rack or a shelf.

Cast in lead-free pewter, they're built to last and look better with age.

  • Set of 4: ¼ tsp, ½ tsp, 1 tsp, 1 tbsp
  • Approximately 3½" tall
  • Handcrafted lead-free pewter
  • Makes a great gift for cooks, collectors, or anyone who could use a little extra luck in the kitchen
