FAQs
Q: Are your products really handmade?
A:
Yes—every item is designed, cast, and finished by hand in my shop in Springfield, Oregon. I make my own molds and sculpt the originals myself. No outsourcing, no factory work—just small-batch craftsmanship.
Q: What kind of metal do you use? Is it food safe?
A:
All items are made from lead-free pewter, which is completely food safe and safe to handle. It’s sturdy, smooth, and meant to last a lifetime.
Q: Will pewter tarnish or change color over time?
A:
Pewter won’t rust or turn green, but it may naturally darken over time. Many people like the soft patina it develops. If you prefer it shiny, a quick polish with a soft cloth will do the trick.
Q: How accurate are the measuring spoons? Can I actually use them?
A:
Yes! The spoons are sized to standard measurements and designed for real use. They’re both decorative and fully functional.
Q: Do the ring dishes, ornaments, or magnets come gift-ready?
A:
Yes—most pieces come in a soft organza pouch or protective packaging, ready for gifting. You can also add a note at checkout if it’s going straight to someone special.
Q: How long will it take to ship my order?
A:
Most orders ship within 2–3 business days. If there's ever a delay (like for a large batch or custom request), I’ll reach out to keep you updated.
Q: Do you offer international shipping?
A:
Yes, to select countries. If you're outside the U.S. and want to double-check, just send me a message—I'm happy to help.
Q: Can I include a gift note or special message?
A:
Absolutely. Leave your note at checkout and I’ll include it with the package. No prices or receipts are included in gift shipments.
Q: Do you offer gift wrapping?
A:
Not officially, but if you’d like your order wrapped a little extra nicely, just let me know—I’m happy to dress it up.
Q: What if my order arrives damaged?
A:
If anything arrives damaged, send me a quick photo and I’ll make it right—either with a replacement or a refund.
Q: How should I clean my pewter?
A:
Wash gently with mild soap and warm water, then dry with a soft cloth. Avoid anything abrasive.
Q: Can I put pewter in the dishwasher?
A:
Nope. Pewter and dishwashers don’t mix. Stick to hand-washing for best results.
Q: Do the wall hooks come with hardware?
A:
Yes—most hooks include screws for easy wall mounting. If you're mounting to a special surface, you can use your own hardware.
Q: Do you take custom orders or personalizations?
A:
Sometimes! If you have a special project in mind, feel free to reach out. I’ll let you know if I can make it happen.
Q: Can I order in bulk for events, weddings, or corporate gifts?
A:
Definitely. I’ve created custom batches for weddings, business gifting, and special events. Just send me a message with the details.
Q: What is Roosfoos?
A:
Roosfoos is part family name, part Dr. Seuss deep cut.
In his poem Too Many Daves, Mrs. McCave names all 23 of her sons Dave—then regrets not choosing something more memorable, like Hoos-Foos, Soggy Muff, or Ziggy.
Our handmade pewter goods aren’t churned out by the thousands or chasing trends—they’re original, thoughtfully made, and just a little unexpected. We’re here for the Soggy Muffs and Hoos-Fooses of the world. The items that stand out. The gifts that get remembered.
Because life’s too short to blend in.
