What is pewter?
Pewter is a soft, durable metal that’s been used for centuries to make everything from tableware to tokens—and it’s the heart of everything I make at Roosfoos.
All of my pieces are cast using lead-free pewter, which is safe for food contact, gentle to handle, and made to last. It has a soft silver-gray color that develops a beautiful patina over time, giving each piece a sense of history and character.
Unlike mass-produced items made from plastic or resin, pewter has real weight, texture, and presence. It’s not disposable—and that’s the point. These are pieces meant to be used, kept, and passed down.

Why I Use It
I’ve worked with pewter for over 25 years because it does what I need it to: it captures detail beautifully, it lasts, and it feels good in the hand. From measuring spoons to ornaments, it’s the perfect material for making things that matter.
